Theatresports® Schools Competition (TSC) bigger and better in 2007

For 25 years, Theatresports® has been a leader in improvised performance in Australia. This is a group of people who have set themselves the task of creating instant scenes, songs, plays and operas with absolutely no preparation time. Every show they do is unique.

The 2006 Theatresports® Schools Competition (TSC) had 50 schools competing from all over Sydney with the grand final held at the 2000 seat Enmore Theatre. The TSC provides  a competitive, but supportive environment for students in which to perform. We encourage them to take creative risks and see where their talents can lead them. Demand has been constantly growing for the 2007 competition. So much so that the organisers, Impro Australia are expanding it in several areas.

TWO AGE DIVISIONS
First of all, in 2007 there will be two separate divisions. An Intermediate division (years 9 and 10) and the Senior division (years 11 and 12). Prior to each heat, the students will be involved in improvisation workshops hosted by some of the top Theatresports® improvisers in the country.

NEW REGIONS ADDED!

For the 2007 TSC, in addition to schools in the Sydney metropolitan area, secondary schools in the following regions
can now also enter teams

CANBERRA
GOULBURN
WOLLONGONG
THE CENTRAL COAST
NEWCASTLE

Heats will be held in each region with the winning schools going into the qualifying finals in Sydney

The TSC takes place in term two with heats running from early May.  The qualifying finals will take place in June and the top teams in each division will go into a Grand Final at the Enmore Theatre on Sunday June 24th.
