Week 1

The opening night of ZODIAC saw the battle of the Earth signs.

VIRGO, TAURUS and CAPRICORN went hoof to hoof for the bragging rights of taking an early lead in the race to become the champion star sign.

Each team was ably assisted by the ‘rising sign’ players of the of University of Sydney and they young men from St Ignatius College Riverview (one of the teams from the 2006 Theatresports® Schools Competition grand final).

With hosting by Oracle Jon Williams (who lasted 18 seconds on stage before resorting to a ‘Uranus’ gag) all the teams did their utmost to please the gods.

Capricorn fell out of favour early and was trampled to death, Virgo were fleetingly pleasing and so escaped with a group nipple piercing.

And so it was that TAURUS (made up of Andrew O’Keefe, Tom Dunstan and Geoff Bartlett) was awarded the victory. But their glory is fleeting as this is but the first of eight weeks of competition to find the sign that will reign supreme.
